I have been listening to lots of talk in the ‘Menopause world’ of late, and one thing that has started to be talked about more than most things, is ‘how can we take our natural supplements in one go?’ I personally have a hoard of tablets to take each morning, Vitamin B12, Vitamin C, Magnesium Citrate, Maca Root, to name a few, as well as trying to drink Green Tea, that I’m not a lover of! Whilst discussing this with a friend, it was mentioned to me that I should look into the BOMIMO menopause protein shake.

I was then introduced to BOMIMO, a plant-protein powder that includes herbal supplements and nutrients that have been formulated to help your body and hormone imbalances during perimenopause and menopause.
I already knew that there were many benefits to protein powder and even more so for women going through menopause. It can be great for building fitness and help with weight control, by keeping you fuller for longer and keeping those cravings at bay. It can also reduce hunger, so, reduces the urge to continually snack, eating far fewer calories. You can get protein from meat, fish, lentils and pulses of course but for most, a protein shake is a much more convenient and quicker way to consume enough protein.
We know that going through menopause causes us to lose muscle mass and are more likely to suffer with Osteoporosis (bones become weak and are more prone to breaking) due to decreasing levels of Oestrogen. Protein is incredibly important as we get older and can certainly help to avoid these issues.
When my BOMIMO arrived, it was beautifully packaged and contained a shaker and a 500g pouch of BOMIMO protein powder (20 x 25g serving per day).
I decided to use semi-skimmed milk (250ml), but you can use plant-based milk, if you prefer and I drank it mid- morning. I was a bit apprehensive about the taste and consistency, but the chocolate shake tasted delicious and even drinking to the very bottom was still as good as the first mouthful, with no powdery residue left at the bottom of the shaker. I have tried a protein shake before but this one tasted much more like a normal shake and much more drinkable! Interestingly, I felt quite full halfway through drinking it and it took me about 10/12 minutes to finish it totally. It kept me full until dinner time and I was surprised how quickly I broke the bad habit of a little snack mid-afternoon!
I have been drinking BOMIMO Menopause protein shake for just over three weeks now and I feel so much more energised and less tired than I was before. I have found that I am not as hungry afterwards which means I have stopped snacking in the afternoon! This menopause protein shake is easy to make on the go, convenient and great for at work. I have also managed to reduce the number of supplements I take, saving me both time and money!
I highly recommend any women going through Peri-menopause, Menopause or Post-menopause to try this shake!
